Sun Lakes is an active resort-style community exclusively designed for adults 55+. Sun Lakes real estate is located in Banning, California in the San Gorgonio Pass. Banning is in Riverside County, the fourth-most populous county in the state. Banning is elevated by 2,350 feet keeping the area an average of 15-degrees cooler than Palm Springs in the summer. Sun Lakes Country Club is located just south of Interstate 10. The popular Big Bear Lake and community of Idyllwild are only a short 30 minute drive away.

There are 3,327 homes in this community consisting of approximately 963 acres. Construction on Sun Lakes homes began in 1987 by the Presley Company and was completed by Pulte Homes in 2003. Sun Lakes offers a wide variety of reasonably priced homes with 51 different floor plans ranging from 850 to 2,627 square feet in size. Sun Lakes has either single-family homes or condominium homes. Homes can range from2-to-3 bedrooms, 2-to-3 bathrooms, and two car garages with one floor plan having 3 car garage. Sun Lakes homes are mostly single-level ranch-style houses, but there are also many two-story models available. Sun Lakes homes have high-quality landscaping with blossoming flowerbeds that brighten the spirit of the community when spring comes around. Many of homes also enjoy exceptional views of the golf courses and snowcapped mountain ranges and city lights.

The amenities in Sun Lakes are seemingly endless. There are three clubhouses: Main, North and South. The main clubhouse is equipped with a fitness center, two restaurants, a bar, library, grand ballroom for events, veranda, card room, arts and crafts studio, billiards room and more. There is also an outdoor resort style pool and spa, golf course, a patio, three pickle ball and paddle ball courts. You could spend the entire day exploring all this community has to offer. The north clubhouse features a fitness center with the latest workout equipment, pro shop for Executive Golf Course, lounge, outdoor patio, outdoor pool, spa, executive golf course, tennis courts and three bocce ball courts. The South clubhouse of Sun Lakes Country Club has an indoor pool, a fitness center, and six tennis courts, an outdoor cooking area and a multipurpose room with kitchen that can be used by residents for private events.

Those 3 clubhouses are for residents to use freely and guests can accompany the resident but cannot use the exercise rooms. Sun Lakes is Gate guarded 24 hours at the main gates and a roving patrol throughout the community.

There is an activities coordinator that is readily available to provide guests with ample opportunities to start or continue living an active and social lifestyle. With over 70 clubs and interest groups, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Sun Lakes. These groups include: Men’s and Women’ golf groups, POP Tennis Club, Dinner Dance Club, Low Vision Support Club, Social Singles, Bocce Ball, Friendship Club, Drama Club, Chorale of Sun Lakes, Pickleball Club, EPAP Group, Photo Group, Yiddish Culture Club, Art League, and many more. There are two 18-hole golf courses within the community, they are the Executive and Championship golf courses. Both are challenging but fair with sloping manicured greens. Many holes are surround by water features. Both courses are private, well-maintained offering scenic views of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountain ranges.

Several medical facilities are located right outside of Sun Lakes including San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, Beaver Medical and Loma Linda Urgent Care.
